Showcasing Local Seafood through state-wide tastings
EatDrink Local SA custodians, Food South Australia, have joined forces with Brand SA and Ferguson Australia to deliver a program of free seafood tastings across the state, in support of South Australia’s seafood industry.
South Australians can sample grilled local fish with salsa, a nutritious summer recipe from the LiveLighter Campaign, highlighting how easy it is to enjoy local seafood at home.
The star of the tastings is the South Australian Ocean Jacket (Nelusetta ayraudi), wild-caught in the Great Australian Bight. This underrated species features premium white flesh, a delicate texture, and a subtle sweet ocean flavour. Ferguson Australia fillets, packs, and freezes the Ocean Jacket on the same day to ensure peak freshness.
The program runs at multiple locations across the state through November and December 2025, offering South Australians a chance to taste the freshness of locally caught seafood.
