Char Barossa is a locally owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Tanunda, South Australia. Since opening in 2019, the team at Char has focused on delivering honest, chargrill-inspired food made with fresh, seasonal produce sourced from local South Australian producers wherever possible.

The restaurant’s food philosophy is simple: quality ingredients, done well. The menu showcases premium local meats and seafood, including SA Prime Eye Fillet, Mayura Station Wagyu Rump, Teys Black Scotch Fillet, kangaroo served rare, Spencer Gulf King Prawns, and a selection of house-made accompaniments. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are also available.

Char Barossa offers a relaxed and welcoming dining experience, whether guests choose to sit inside, enjoy the verandah overlooking the main street, or dine in the tranquil Char Garden at the rear of the venue.
