The Loose Caboose
The Loose Caboose is an iconic café nestled in the heart of Hindmarsh, Adelaide, housed in one of Australia’s oldest heritage-listed railway stations, built in 1856. Since opening its doors in 2012, it has become a beloved destination for brunch enthusiasts, offering a unique blend of history, community, and culinary excellence.
The café is the vision of Katie Price, who grew up on the Yorke Peninsula where her family owned farms, a butcher shop, and a bakery. This deep-rooted connection to local produce is evident in every dish served at The Loose Caboose. Katie's commitment to crafting dishes from scratch is a homage to her Nana’s traditional values, ensuring that each meal is a celebration of South Australian food and culture.
The Loose Caboose offers a diverse all-day brunch menu, featuring a selection of sweet and savoury fare, as well as tapas-style brunch options. The coffee here is a serious affair, with a thick and creamy house blend that sings caramel and hazelnut notes. The café also features an outdoor deck, providing a charming setting for diners.
